Caribou Coffee is back! (Almost)
So today I found out that Caribou Coffee has opened a new branch after it closed its Salwa road branch due to the road construction going on there right now. The new branch isn’t far away from the old one, it’s still on Salwa road. When coming from Industrial area, it’s in the Aljazeera petrol station compound, right before the new signals (previously, Alazizya roundabout). There is also a McDonald’s, Subway and a bunch of other restaurants and shops.
I got my Chai latte for free
because they aren’t officially open yet, but you can still pay them a visit. They don’t know when they will be opening yet, but it’s probably going to be in 10 to 15 days.
The place is covered with glass all around so there is a lot of natural lighting which is nice, but it kind of gets hot when sitting next to the glass because of the direct sun, and there is also the annoying glare on your laptop screen. I hope it’s going to be non-smoking though. At their old branch they had the first floor for smokers, but this branch doesn’t have a first floor, so I am hoping they are going to make the whole place non-smoking.
They also have a children’s play area, but not the books they used to have in the old branch. They still don’t have internet, but they will be getting it soon, depending on how fast Qtel is. I also liked that they have electrical outlets conveniently placed next to the tables which is great if you are planning to sit there for a while with your laptop or study.
Anyways, I am really excited they are back, and hope they will be opening more branches soon. What’s you favourite coffee shop in town?
